World Environment Day 2025: the hidden cost of climate change

, Climate, Advocacy

Our artwork shows how climate hazards cut women and girls off from clinics and essential SRHR and menstrual hygiene services.

This World Environment Day, Y-PEER Bangladesh urged a deeper reflection on the hidden casualties of climate change. As environmental hazards escalate, it is often women and girls who bear the heaviest burden.

Our artwork depicts a grim reality: compromised access to clinics, unsafe conditions, and a severe lack of essential health services, including SRHR and menstrual hygiene management. These are not just inconveniences. They are threats to life, health, and fundamental human rights.

We must build a future where environmental sustainability and gender equality go hand in hand. True climate resilience protects the health and rights of women and girls, especially in times of crisis.
